Three performances will be held at Kamani Auditorium in Delhi on the 25th, 26th and 27th September at 19:00 hours, and a performance in Paris on October 5 at the Cité de la Musique.
This Indo-European co-production gives a new vision of Monteverdi’s opera, with an interpretation that mixes the classic version with Indian influences. The conductor Françoise Lasserre and director François Rancillac are working with European soloists, a Indian chorus (Neemrana the Vocal Ensemble), instruments of the Baroque era (theorbo, organ, spruce …), traditional Indian musicians (saranghi, shehnai, tabla, pakhawaj, tanpura) and an Odissi dancer.
The show is presented by The Neemrana Music Foundation and Akademia, in collaboration with ICCR, the French Institute, Neemrana hotels, IBIS Delhi Airport, hit 95 FM, Air India and Shanti Travel.
To buy tickets for this extravaganza, contact the Neemrana Shop from September 10th located at 23-B, Khan Market, New Delhi – Tel: +91 11 43587183/84.
